The Wonder Girls made a surprise appearance in director/comedian Shim HyungRae’s ‘Last Godfather’.

On the 29th, a member of CJ Entertainment stated, “The Wonder Girls appeared in ‘Last Godfather’.” ‘Last Godfather’ is the project following behind director Shim’s ‘D-War’.

The film is about Shim HyungRae’s famous comedic character, YoungGu, being the hidden son of an American mafia’s godfather.

The movie is set with the background of New York in the 1950s. He worked with Hollywood star Harvey Keitel from ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’. Michael Rispoli and Jocelin Donahue also took part in the film.

According to the CJ Entertainment member, while the Wonder Girls were promoting in the States, they received a request from Shim and made their surprise appearance in a scene. This was decided on by concluding that the girls’ retro styled ‘Nobody’ performance would fit the film’s 1950s New York atmosphere.

Their appearance has been garnering attention as it will have the idol group show their ‘Nobody’ dance in the film. ‘Last Godfather’ will be opening in the States early next year. Many are expecting the Girls’ appearance in the film to act as a positive factor towards their American activities.

Meanwhile, ‘Last Godfather’ will be premiering in Korea on the 30th of next month.

The artists of JYP Entertainment are planning to spread out all over the world for the upcoming new year.

Representatives of JYP Entertainment revealed, “In 2011, the Wonder Girls will be in America, 2PM in Japan, and miss A in China in order to extend their promotions internationally. The Wonder Girls will complete their Asian tour and return to America to release a new track, and there’s a high possibility that they will release their first official album as well.”

2PM has already released a DVD in Japan and will be holding a showcase titled “2PM 1ST CONTACT IN JAPAN” on December 8th in Tokyo. Their Japanese promotions will officially begin in 2011 with the release of their first official album, “1:59 PM,” which will include a brand-new track in Japanese.

The representative went on to state, “Their schedule for 2011 is already planned so we will be moving according to that.” Due to members Wooyoung and Taecyeon’s participation in the drama “Dream High,” 2PM’s Japanese activities will be put on hold until the series has completed.

miss A was always meant to head over to China, and so the ladies will officially begin their Chinese activities in 2011 as well.

The CEO of JYP Entertainment, Park Jin Young, will also be quite busy as well – he will tackle his first attempt at acting alongside his artists in “Dream High”. Park Jin Young has also taken on the responsibilities of being the style and music directors for the drama.

Looks like it’s going to be quite the hectic year for JYP Entertainment! Let’s wish them well!

The Wonder Girls’ single “Nobody” became the first song by a Korean group to ever hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The quintet, which splits its time between Seoul, South Korea, and New York City, performs its radio-friendly songs in Korean, English and Chinese. After touring with the Jonas Brothers, the Girls hit a string of smaller clubs earlier this year. Known simply by their first names, Yenny and Sun (both 21 years old) and 17-year-old Lim chatted about their favorite vacation spots. Like a true teenager, Lim admits she’s always on the lookout for “famous restaurants and landmarks.”

Q What is your favorite vacation destination?
Lim: I would say Hong Kong because being there makes me feel free and peaceful. And it’s a great place to go shopping.
Sun: I love the places that are really calm and relaxing. Beaches or mountains — it doesn’t matter.
Yenny: Definitely an amusement park like Six Flags. I love all the rides there.

Q Where are your favorite weekend getaways?
Yenny: Lotte World, the famous amusement park in Seoul. I also enjoy going to Haeundae Beach in Busan, South Korea.
Sun: The beaches in Long Island were awesome. I’ve also been to the Grand Canyon with my friends. I was so impressed by the grand scale of the canyons. I was blown away.

Q What are your favorite hotels?
Yenny: Lotte Hotel (lottehotel.com) in Seoul. The Four Seasons (fourseasons.com) in Vancouver. The multigrain pancakes there are the best.
Lim: There are quite a few, but I would have to say the Marina Bay Sands Hotel (marinabaysands.com) in Singapore. I totally love the bedrooms there.

Q What are your favorite restaurants?
Yenny: An Indian restaurant called Pongal (pongalnyc.com) in New York. It doesn\’t get better than their chana masala and lassi.
Lim: In Hong Kong I like a Korean restaurant called Jin Luo Bao and Harlan, which is an Italian restaurant where I first tasted a Caesar salad and totally fell in love with it.
Sun: I love Serendipity3 (serendipity3.com) and Soba-ya (sobaya-nyc.com) in New York City, The Griddle Cafe (thegriddlecafe.com) and the Ivy (theivyla.com) in Los Angeles and Buca di Beppo (bucadibeppo.com) in Chicago.

Q What are your five favorite cities?
Lim: Hong Kong, Seoul, New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Sun: New York City is my all-time favorite, but I like San Francisco, Chicago, Singapore and Shanghai too.
Yenny: New York, since we live there. I love Singapore. The people are so nice in Bangkok. There’s beautiful weather in San Francisco. And something good always happens in Vancouver.

YG Yang HyunSeok talks about Se7en’s attempt to advance into the American music scene.

Se7en had a comeback celebration party in a club in CheongDamDong on 20th July. Yang HyunSeok who was also present told the reporters, “There is rumours saying that Se7en’s American debut being a failure but we are not going to deny it. But advancing into the American music scene is harder than we thought. As compared to visible results, we would still take up the challenge for a try at it even if the chances of failure is 99%. Under such circumstances, we see it that there is no use to discuss whether it was a success or failure.”

He also added, “And I hope that BoA and the Wonder Girls who are currently promoting in the States will do well there. The barrier for Asian artistes into the American music market is still very high. Especially for the company which is in charged of promotions, the reliability is gone once the contract is over.”

Yang HyunSeok said, “If a good chance comes along, we will take up the challenge again. We are still working hard on looking for a good promoter and industry relations.”

Se7en himself voiced, “It is true that the goals that I’ve set on advancing into the American music market did not materialize. The sense of regret is larger since the time put into preparing for this was so long. Honestly you can’t say it is an official debut since there was no release of a full length album. It would be hard to kick off promotional activities. It is really a shame since so much time has been invested to prepare for it.”

He added, “I was not able to show what I have spent time preparing for. But still I learnt a lot. I have also studied up on music a lot for the past 3 years. And I’ve improved on dancing and singing. And as an individual I’ve definitely matured much. To succeed as singer, you need to look into 3 areas – talent, music and company. But in the States, I didn’t get the best out of the 3. Even if you have this 3, it is not a guarantee you will succeed. Instead of saying that one is lacking, it is just tough.”

While promoting in the U.S, Wonder Girls are the models for EXR in Korea. It looks like EXR will be taking this opportunity to expand their brand in the States, but Wonder Girls will not be doing it alone. Dare take a guess at who will be their little helper?

EXR feels that thanks to Wonder Girls they are making their name know as the girls are showing the “hallyu fashion” around the U.S, but now they have also teamed up with none other than the animated character Pucca to have a stronger base to start with on their American venture. EXR is planning to produce both a Wonder Girls line and a Pucca line which will be aimed at young women.

EXR stated, “Pucca is not only popular in the U.S and Canada, but also in South America, Europe, China, and 150 Asian countries. The Pucca character and Wonder Girls have many similarities. We will capture the attention of America’s fashion people through these products and Wonder Girls.”

They’ll be starting off with the Pucca line, which will be released first in Korea to taste the waters, and then it will be released in the U.S.

Most of us just couldn’t wait to watch Wonder Girls‘ appearance in Family Outing 2. Be prepared for much laughter is headed your way and while you’re at it, get some box of tissues since Wonder Girls’ YeEun was seen crying in the set, the reason?

YeEun couldn’t help but shed tears when her mother surprisingly came by the set to greet her and the rest of the Wonder Girls. Being away from their families due to their busy schedules in U.S., and China, the staff took it to their consideration to invite YeEun’s mother.

During their second day of filming, the family members were told to write letters for their family. The Wonder Girls had tears in their eyes as they write their letters.

When it was YeEun’s turn to read her letter, she explains on how she took her mother for granted and would often whine to her about being tired. To YeEun’s surprise, her mother was watching her the whole time and by the time YeEun finished reading her letter, her mother showed herself. YeEun and the rest of the Wonder Girls quickly ran and gave YeEun’s mother a big hug.

YeEun’s mother also came by with warm rice cakes that she bought and expresses on how much she is grateful to see all the girls again.
