While they are in the last stages of preparations, Wonder Girls will be releasing their official 2nd album on the 7th. The album will contain the title song “Be My Baby” by Park Jinyoung, as well as “G.N.O”, which was composed and written by YeEun.

“G.N.O” stands for “Girls Night Out”, and it will be a party-like, fun dance song. YeEun has already shown off her songwriting skills with “Saying I Love You”, which was included in their “Nobody” album.

A source told StarNews on the 4th, “YeEun has shown off her songwriting skills in this album. It is a fun dance song. As this is their first Korean comeback in a while, they are busy preparing for their heart-fluttering comeback stage.”

As Wonder Girls released addictive, retro music and choreography in the past, many members in the music industry have been focusing on their new stage. They will be showing a luxurious stage, different from their usual retro code.

The girls are also planning to meet fans through various activities.

JYP Entertainment revealed, “We have prepared at least one month as Wonder Girls’ promotional period, and we are planning on having them participate in as many variety shows and radio programs as possible during that time for fans who have been waiting.”

With their comeback nearing, the teaser video of Wonder Girls’ title single “Be My Baby” was revealed on the 3rd.

The video that was revealed showed a charismatic Wonder Girls, revealing the basic concept and how the stage may be for their second official album.

Within Yubin’s narration, the members can be seen posing at a bar, wearing dot patterned outfits. The members’ silhouetted stage performance followed suit. After their rhythmical choreography, the video ended with Wonder Girls posing, and the title song being shown.

JYP Entertainment stated, “The teaser video revealed today is for this album’s title song ‘Be My Baby’. We are planning on releasing Wonder Girls’ album on the 7th, and an English version of the title song will be revealed in North America. Please continue to show love and support for Wonder Girls.”

Meanwhile, Wonder Girls will have their first comeback stage on KBS Music Bank on November 11th.

Wonder Girls will be returning to Korea this week.

Wonder Girls have been busy filming their TV movie ‘Wonder Girls At The Apollo’, which is scheduled to air in 2012. After completing the filming, they are planning on returning to Korea sometime this weekend, and begin preparations for their comeback.

JYP Entertainment stated, “Wonder Girls are currently busy filming their TV movie and handling other schedules. As long as there aren’t any additional interruptions, they will be returning to Korea near the end of the week and will focus on their comeback preparations.”

It is expected for them to go against SNSD, Orange Caramel, as well as T-ara in November. Also, after their retro concept series with ‘So Hot’ and ‘Nobody’, many have been wondering what their comeback album concept will be.

On this, their management stated, “Their album will be created like a movie OST. With that in mind, we will be finalizing their album concept to fit the song’s mood. We are expecting a more pop-like concept, rather than a retro one. We will be showing their new charms, so please look forward to it.”

Taking this into consideration, it seems the media was about a week late in publishing their statements by JYPE, as the girls finished shooting their movie last week, on October 6th, and were already on their way to Korea last Saturday, on October 8th, while the article makes it seem like all of that would happen this week. Nonetheless, at least we are finally getting little details about their much awaited Korean comeback. Who’s excited?!

On September 6th, the Wonder Girls were officially appointed as honorary Korean food ambassadors and participated in a photoshoot for the campaign, with the slogan “Smart Choice! Global K-Food!”, on the same day.

The Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation’s Naver blogged about the girls’ photoshoot and shared some shots from the set:

The popular girl group that has been spreading Korea’s name all over the world, Wonder Girls, has been appointed the “Honorary Ambassador for Korean Food”, and will be leading in spreading word of our food, tastes, and its excellence.

On the 6th, Wonder Girls had a photoshoot to show themselves as honorary ambassadors at a studio in Nonhyun-dong in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

On this day, Wonder Girls’ took part in the ’2011 Korean Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Appointment’ in the morning, and went through the shoot the same afternoon without showing any signs of exhaustion. They showed a representative girl group-like appearance most satisfactorily, gaining compliments.

The shoot began starting with the leader, Sunye, followed by Sohee, Yubin, Yeeun, and Hyerim. As they have probably experienced many photoshoots thus far, they did not have any trouble showing natural poses.

Despite their average age being 22, Wonder Girls showed their professionalism by holding a serious manner from beginning to end. The many staff members at the photoshoot set constantly held up their thumbs, saying “great”.

Wonder Girls will be active as ambassadors for a year, spreading the promotional campaign slogan, “Smart Choice! K-Food!” to fans in Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and other South Asian countries. They will give drinks and food samples to reporters in the specific countries, and go through promotional interviews.

Certain items were chosen, that fit each of their cute images, for them to promote. Paprika was chosen for Yeeun, strawberries for Sohee, apples for Sunye, roses for Yubin, and yuzu for Hyerim.

During the meeting, they stated, “Due to our extended stay overseas, we have realized the importance of our food. From now on, we will do our best to let foreign fans know about the taste and greatness of our food.”

Please look forward to Wonder Girls’ activeness to spread Korea’s name by leading promotions of our food.

An official from Wonder Girls revealed that the girls are still in Korea and are currently spending the week before “Chuseok”, an important holiday known as the Korean Thanksgiving, with their families since the group will return to the U.S on the 12, “Chuseok Day”, to work on their movie and their new Korean album scheduled to be released in November.

After finishing the filming of their movie in October, the girls will make their Korean comeback and promote for a month in November. In December they will return to the U.S again.

Since around three weeks ago, the Mexican morning TV show called “Venga la Alegria” from Azteca 13, channel from the second largest television network in the country, TV Azteca, has been featuring KPOP artists every Wednesday in their segment “90 segundos de…” (90 seconds of…).

The “90 segudos de…” consist of a small introduction of the featured artist by the show’s host, Sergio Sepulveda, followed by 90 seconds of clips of the said artists, usually small cuts from around 3 to 4 music videos.

In the past weeks they have shown 90 seconds of Big Bang, Super Junior and TVXQ and on May 18th, it was finally Wonder Girls time to shine as “Venga la Alegria” presented the “90 segundos de Wonder Girls”, being the first female group to be featured. Before the video clip of the girls, Sergio Sepulveda introduced each member and talked about their success by entering the Billboard Hot 100, their participation on Jonas Brother’s tour in 2009 and their millions of views on YouTube.

“Venga la Alegría” is the same TV show that made a short report about the KPOP movement, highly featuring the Wonder Girls, back on April 28th. Between 2009 and 2010 they also did parodies of UCC videos found on YouTube of “Nobody” and “Tell Me”, in their segment “No es lo mismo pero es igual” (It’s not the same but it’s alike).

On April 28th, Wonder Girls were featured as one of the few selected groups in a report about KPOP by a Mexican morning TV show “Venga la Alegria”.

More or less like the report by Brazilian news program “Leitura Dinâmica” back in February, the small segment served as an introduction to the KPOP phenomenon that has been spreading through the world thanks to the Internet. Even though there were some mistakes on the report, like including JPOP group KAT-TUN in the small list of the most popular KPOP acts, this is a big step for Mexican fans who have tried to spread the word about KPOP and be noticed.

Throughout the video a lot of footage from Wonder Girls’ music videos is featured and even “So Hot” and “Tell Me” are used as background music.

Since its creation, POP is one of the musical genres with the most number of fans around the planet. Its success is due to a brilliant and contagious formula: popular, marketable and simple. Simple to captivate millions of listeners.

A fundamental factor for the internationalization of KPOP has been the Internet. Music and videos of the Korean bands have reached places they never imagined with media tools like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

To have an idea of the general impact of the artists from this asian country, some months ago a Korean newspaper took all the visits to POP videos made on YouTube and results were surprising. Take a listen, 923 different videos and around 793 million visits. The countries that generate a larger number of visits are Japan, Thailand and the U.S., but we have to say that the Korean Wave has already reached Mexico and it seems it’s here to stay. There are more than 20 fan clubs and thousands of followers in all the republic.

Like we said already, the diversity of KPOP groups is quite wide, this is just a taste of the most known and supported on the net: 2NE1, Wonder Girls, Drunken Tiger, Big Bang, and we are left short… (short as in, he knows he left out a lot of groups/artists)

No one imagined that KPOP would reach such an explosive musical growth. Musical growth and phenomenon that has also taken millions of eyes to the Korean culture as a whole.

Wonder Girls leader Sunye announced that the group will carry out promotions in Korea later this year.

On April 6th, Sunye appeared on SBS Power FM’s ‘Kim Hee Chul’s Young Street‘, and hinted at a Wonder Girls comeback in Korea.

When asked about the Wonder Girls’ activities by a listener, she stated, “Although we are not promoting in Korea right now, I’m very proud that K-Pop is being spread [around the world]. Park Jinyoung and Wonder Girls’ management, JYP Entertainment, revealed on the 31st, “Park Jinyoung and Wonder Girls will be taking part in ‘Artistes 311 Love Beyond Borders’ as the representatives of Korea.”

‘Artistes 311 Love Beyond Borders’, which is supervised by Jackie Chan, will be doing volunteer work to help the victims of the earthquake that took place the past 11th. A concert will be held on the 1st of April in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m. Asia’s top stars will be taking part in this marathon concert, and all proceeds will be donated towards helping the earthquake victims in Japan.
